Architecture Gallery of Madrid
Our proposal aims to conceptualize the condition of “industrial” prototypes that has existed since the last decades of the Industrial Revolution. The representation of the prototype is manifested through fragments that abstractly expose industrial production in contemporary architecture.
These objects consist of a series of decontextualized concepts derived from ventilated façades, substructures, factory-assembled elements, furniture, and others. For this reason, these architectural objects are exhibited and configured within a family of display elements that unify the interaction of a semicircular panel system and more flexible exhibition pieces.
The circulation and program layout divide the Mercadal hall into two longitudinal parts, so that each room has independent access. This division is achieved through a curtain, a light element that gives flexibility to the space.
On the other hand, the central curved element will be the heart of the proposal, supporting a continuous chronological line. This element articulates the exhibition hall, creating a route around it and unifying the opposing exhibition and display elements.
